I think I just answered you at the wp forums but anyway:

well, I just tried several of the constelaltions you described above on three installations of wp-monalisa and had no problems.

can you give me your wp version? plugins u use? theme u use?
I want to produce the error to trace it down.

Basically the wp-monalisa plugin made my site inaccessible. But thankfully i could easily recover by deleting the plugin from the wordpress folder. Site worked again after that.

Did some cleanup by using dbmanager to drop the wp-monalisa table from the mysql database, and did a full clearing of cache using total cache.

Anyways i really hope you can find out why your plugin is acting like this after i saved the plugin options :{

the plugin did work, but in order to add more smilies and do changes, i will need to press save, which at this point i can’t because it breaks my site :{

Eine kleine Anmerkung hätte ich da noch, denn ich finde man kann nicht genau sehen das man quasi nur den unteren Teil der 2 Zeilen einfügen braucht ($DMSGuestbookContent .= get_wpml_comment();), und zwar direkt unter den anderen Code unabhänig von der Zeile, bei mir hatte ich beispielsweise im oberen Bereich für mich noch einen Hinweis eingefügt (versteckt) und deshalb war das bei mir in Zeile 706

ich habe mir die Dokumentation angesehen, bin aber leider nicht ganz schlau daraus geworden. meine PHP-Kenntnisse, wie auch meine übrigen Programmier-Kenntnisse, tendieren leider gegen Null.

Hauptproblem: Auf meinem Server gibt es keine Datei mit Namen sidebar.php. Ich habe selbst gesucht und alles von einem Suchtool durchforsten lassen.

Zweites Problem: Was genau müsste ich (und wo) in der Datei eintragen, um das Widget auf der deutschen Seite in deutsch und auf der schwedischen Seite in schwedisch anzuzeigen? Ginge das eventuell mit diesem Befehl?

Ich wollte es damit probieren, finde aber, wie gesagt, die Datei nicht.
